    Regardless of our beliefs, AI is here to stay and most likely already exists in our schools. In this session, we’ll explore specific examples of how AI currently impacts our classrooms, useful tools, what the future holds, and what educators should do to adapt. We’ll discuss concerns surrounding assessment, ethics, academic integrity, school policy, internet safety, and educational opportunity, as well as AI’s awesome potential for personalized learning and beyond.

    This interactive session covers the most recent developments in the AI in education landscape, including research, policy updates, news, innovative tools, and more. We also explore suggestions for (and examples of) AI policy formation and discuss practical steps schools can take to empower their staff, students, and school community through this fast moving space, such as 1) embracing AI literacy for all, 2) implementing a clear and transparent AI policy, and 3) rethinking assessments and assignments to adapt to new standards of student achievement.

In this session, we will explore how teachers can embrace a new era of student achievement, such as strategies for “AI-Proofing” assignments, assigning multi-modal tasks, flipping the classroom, emphasizing process over product, using authentic, high-order thinking tasks, and more. Participants can expect to walk away with concrete examples, resources, and strategies to help them revolutionize their practice.
